Hello, friends! Deepti here and welcome to another spotlight feature. Today I decided to play with stamps and dies to create my card. Sometimes combining your supplies leads to pretty cards and you don't necessarily have to have a technique :)

So, here's a look at the finished card:

STEP 1
I started out by cutting a frame of corrugated paper using rectangular dies, if you don't have dies, you can always work with your trimmer. Then I marked the inside of the frame with a pencil on my card base.

STEP 2
Then I masked the white card stock panel with post it note and inked it lightly with Distress ink. I also added some water drops after inking.

STEP 3
Next I did second generation stamping of the flowers.

STEP 4
I colored the flowers and fussy cut them.

STEP 5
I stamped the sentiment on the card base, die cut some leaves in kraft, and assembled it all with some foam dots and glue. I was not very happy with the kraft die cut leaves so I switched it to white and also removed the blue bird and added a wood veneer butterfly.

Here's the finished close up :)

That finishes my spotlight feature :) I hope you enjoyed it and will give this a try. Happy paper crafting!

  2. Everything about this card is "simply elegant." The water spots add nice interest to the delicate sponging, and the contrast between the corrugated frame and the lovely flowers is really fun.
